2025
- Dr. Marwan Krunz (PI) has been awarded a grant from NSF for the project "Unleashing the Power of Spectrum Sharing in Multi-Operator Settings Through Privacy-Preserving Competition and Cooperation". The project aims to develop novel technologies, frameworks, and policies that facilitate efficient and secure spectrum sharing among multiple operators. - Zhiwu Guo defended his Ph.D. dissertation, entitled "Online Learning Based Successive Interference Cancellation for Fair Coexistence of Heterogeneous Systems Over the Unlicensed Spectrum" (June 20, 2025). He joined Apple.

- Dr. Krunz delivered a keynote speech at the IEEE SECON 2024 Conference, Tempe, Arizona, Dec. 2-4, 2024, entitled “Application of Generative AI for Coverage and Capacity Planning in Next-generation Wireless Systems.”
- Congratulations to Arush and Rabiul for being selected for the CyberPowder 2025 Fellows Program.
- In collaboration with researchers from Arizona State University and Case Western Reserve University, our group received an NSF award for the project "FuSe2 Topic 1: Energy-efficient, Near-Memory CMOS+X Architecture for Hardware Acceleration of DNNs with Application to NextG Wireless Systems". The project will focus on developing a hardware/software framework for efficient, on-chip implementation of deep neural networks (DNNs) and applying this framework for signal inference in next-generation (NextG) wireless communications systems. - Dr. Marwan Krunz (PI) and Dr. Michael Wu (co-PI) were awarded a grant from NSF to establish a new Industry University Cooperative Research Center (IUCRC) called WISPER, which stands for Wireless Innovation towards Secure, Pervasive, Efficient, and Resilient Next G Networks. A partnership between the University of Arizona, Virginia Tech, and George Mason University, WISPER aims at influencing 6G technology platforms through proactive engagement with various stakeholders, guiding standard-setting organizations and endorsing collaboration between academia and industry. WISPER aims to spearhead the evolution of secure and economical next-generation wireless networks and play a vital role in cultivating a workforce equipped to navigate impending complex challenges.
